Hath God Said
this?...
"1+1+X =
I AM the missing link!"
Or decreed the following three points?...
Divine inspiration ... Divine revelation ... Divine preservation
Thatz the Three D's in regards to biblical exegesis ...
Get this ... the Bible commonly uses three witnesses (2 Cor. 13:1) in establishing His record as 1 John 5:7:
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
"o.n.e... a.n.d ...o.n.e ...a.n.d... o.n.e ...i.z
...t.h.r.e.e !!!"
Simple maths, eh! Now here's a couple of vital questions:
Firstly, 1: Is it a coincidence the above portion of scripture (1 John 5:7) is one of the most attacked verses in the Bible, being omitted in most modern versions?
& 2: Can some verses in your Bible be reliable and some others unreliable? If so, who has the authority to correct the ones that are apparently unreliable? Is it the slick credentialed fella above, coming as your "caring", "spiritual" mentor? Or your professional advisor?
Or is your Bible fully adequate to both defend and support itself to the end?
Answer (if you believe in your hand-held, tangible, Holy Bible, in the present tense): Nope, no. 1 is not coincidental but deliberate!
Plus, the answer to no. 2: No one has the right to "have dominion over your faith" as there is "only one mediator between God and (you), the man Christ Jesus"! And yes, the Bible confirms that it is a fully, trustworthy, stand-alone book!
This is got to be great news!
Hopefully, the points made so far have got you thinking (for yourself that is!).
Now let's allow the scripture to speak for itself (and not be filtered down or tainted through some human proxy getting in the way):
| The ...............the spirit of truth? ...........Or the spirit of error?
Which spirit?
|
I believe in ... 1. Divine inspiration ... chapter & verse - 2 Tim. 3:16.
I believe in... 2. Divine revelation ... chapter & verse - Gal. 1:12....
I believe in... 3. Divine preservation... chapter & verse - Matt. 24:35
Depending on whatever points you have just ticked, you have just made a decision based on the spirit of truth or the spirit of error ... nothing more or nothing less! Read on!
Agreeing on points 1 & 2 (to make himself credible) the modern day Bible correctionist would worm his way around point 3 by saying the original meaning of some scriptures were lost by time and language translation error (is this your spin, by the way?). Therefore, he woulduse his "higher learning" (position and academic credentials) to replace point 3 with his own opinion. Based on being "qualified" of course, in sorting out the apparent original meaning God intended, through the hotchpotch of various scattered manuscripts and apparent "new truth" coming to light.
Basically, this would make this textual critic your final authority and not your Bible. It would also be his "trained", "polished", and "sophisticated" way of saying, "hath God said?" The same root lie that came directly from the Serpent in the Garden, before the Old Testament was penned. It was also the same lie being propagated in Paul's day, when the New Testament was being penned, as expressed in 2 Cor. 2:17:
"For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God:"
That's why the Devil trembles at the 'sword of the spirit' being wielded effectively through faith, as he will use his emissaries to come
against true Bible believers (who are not ashamed to tick points 1, 2, & 3 by the way) in order to stamp out the word. With Rev. 6:9 making reference to this:
... "the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony (the Bible) which they held"
However, when violent methods fail, like the above verse (as what happened in the Dark Ages f'instance) the Enemy will change his tactics of direct all-out conflict, to subterfuge this time. This way he can smokescreen the truth by bamboozling the naive and unsuspecting. Therefore, if he can disarm the believer by using confusion, or by complicating the word, this would mean he could destroy the believer's very foundation.
This is why the Bible says ... "The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?"
This is why the Bible is being attacked more than ever, by ministering contradiction, as the modern translations are propagating today.
This is why the believer needs be armed at all times, being confident the Bible he carries in his hand is indeed the word of God which is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.
.This is why when the believer agrees with the word and says, "IT IS WRITTEN!!" he says it with full conviction, and complete and utter confidence, knowing he has God's invested authority stamped on it. While understanding it will not return to God void. Being assured, that no weapon that is formed against (him) shall prosper.
Yes, the most powerful weapon in the whole world and a major blow for the kingdom of darkness and those who are bearers of false light.
This is why those that really believe in His word shall "overcame him (the deceiving devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word (the scriptures) of their testimony (the Bible)".
Do ya believe it? Meaning, can ya tick the 3 points without a shadow of a doubt? Coz it is imperative, if you want to call yourself a Bible believer, while being real at the same time. You are simply defenseless and easy prey outside of it!
If you can't (de big challenge here!) ... then where's ya sword Brother?

Scholarship Onlyism verses One Book Onlyism
(Are you really a Bible believer?)
Expounding for a good reason
I have just presented "the Three Ds" in the simplest, clearest and condensed way I can. Hopefully, leaving no doubt for the reader who would only want to see God's way and not his or her own. Iz this right?
Following is the same message, but as a more expansive presentation, in order to try and throw more biblical light on the subject. The whole aim of this exercise at this stage (in case you cannot see it thus far) is aimed at prompting ourselves, to really examine ourselves, to whether we are truly fit to call ourself a Bible believer, in the true, bona fide sense. And not just in word or as a token gesture.
Will the true Jesus follower please stand up?
Like the word "church" or "faith", another word that has been hijacked by the religious world iz ... you got it, the biggie ... the word "Christian"!
The whole trick of the devil (the prince of this world) is to take the scriptural term (Christian), for the true Jesus follower of the way, outta the way, by confusing it with a mixture. This is in order to set up smokescreens and obscure the genuine way (wow, even the devil must know the scriptures are the word of God). Or blend the word Christian in with the many religious alternative names and titles, and slogans and brands, making the way look like just any other religious alternative. Hence, the reason the term 'Bible believer' being used a lot today as a biblical alternative by the remnant (and beguilingly by those masquerading as the remnant). With the aim of counteracting Satan's counterfeit definitions (like the name Christian), who Satan uses against those who have found the truth, in order to hinder them from remaining in the truth.
However, not all those who claim to be Bible believers are indeed what they claim to be. In other words, many so-called Bible believers are in actual fact Bible disbelievers. Or fake Bible believers, to put it in other words.
To be fair ... some of these frauds are frauds due to being conned through straight out deception, while others out of ignorance. Therefore, the war between truth and error, light and darkness, faith and philosophy, continues, as some would-be believers stumblingly try and contend for the faith, while some others make an all out stand for the inerrancy of scripture. The Lord would not have it any other way.
May I make this quite clear though; because a Christian might say he does not believe in a perfect Bible, I would never say this Brother or Sister is not saved. This is because someone's salvation is based entirely on calling out to the name of Lord (although their salvation would line up completely with the word anyway - hopefully they will see this later by revelation). However, in their ignorance, they may not realize their Saviour, the incorruptible word (which brings regeneration), and the scriptures (which cannot be broken) are one and the same anyway. I will explain this later.
The true Bible Believer
Here iz the crux of the whole matter (and as a repeat and reminder of Part One of the "Three Ds"):
In order for a Bible believer to be called a Bible believer in the 'true-blue' 'fair dinkum', scriptural sense of the word, one has to believe in all three of the following scriptural witnesses (there's simply no escaping). Therefore (giving it another go), can you please tick each point here (three in total), if you sincerely believe the points you can confidently tick are really true? Or if you happened to have flagged them away before and are now ready to face this vital issue yet once again. Therefore, pleezz tick, remembering, no trick ...
I believe in 1, or 2, or 3 (or all 3), of the following:
1Divine inspiration of scripture True? Please tick
(no trick)!
2Divine preservation of scripture True? Please tick
(no trick)!
3Divine revelation of scripture True? Please tick
(no trick)!
Divine Inspiration
You've heard it so many times ... and here it is again. Right out of the NT, and coming again from Paul in 2 Tim. 3:16:
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness".
"That's fine," many would say (while hoping to be let off the hook)! "But does this verse include OT scripture as well? Or is this verse only referring to the handwritten originals, that were written at the time of Paul and the other apostles, as far as being the inspired scripture?"
To answer this question scripturally and fairly, please note the word All commencing this verse! Or maybe this is a translation error or something? Like smoke it is! Because this notion is disarmed instantly by the next biblical witness backing up the Lord's promise to preserve and keep His word. If you don't believe this then you have only one alternative left. This is evidently placing your complete trust in human scholars. That's the textual critics, educated revisionists and credentialed "experts" of our time. (Remember what an x-spert is? An "x" is an unknown quantity, and a "spert" (spurt) is a drip under pressure! Also, an X is opposite to a tick).
It all comes back to whether you will put your trust in a dollar (I mean a scholar - a man) or a crook (I mean a Book - the Lord's record). They are all interrelated anyway. Just the same, it all comes back to whether you trust in a cemetery (I mean seminary), or a God who says his record is true (John 19:35). Yes, it all boils down to whether you will heed the paid professionals and modern revisionists of our time, being reminiscent of Jer. 8:8:
"How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo,certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain."
Or the scripture (the lot that iz - from Genesis to Revelation). Is. 34:16 for a start:
"Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read"
Can you do this? Seek it out that is! Where is it found? The book that is? God's book! A complete book ... where all the counsel of God can be read with assurance. A book that we can confidently say contains the holy scriptures. Without error. The "i's" dotted and the "t's"crossed. Let alone one word missing or changed. Or a whole scripture tampered with. As you should know ... you only need one bit of leaven to spoil the whole lump. Like a missing comma, f'instance. Or a fullstop in the wrong place. Then it no longer qualifies to called pure, does it? Or holy! Meaning, it is no longer credible enough to be called The Holy book! Bible. God's own inspired
Luke 4:4 has got it right ... "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written (wow, the scriptures must have such authority), That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
Take notice of Pr. 30:5 ... "Every word of God is pure"!
Do you believe it? That's the scriptures speaking! Not your pastor! Nor your "spiritual adviser"! Nor "Beyond Camp", for that matter!
Continued ... "he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
See what this above verse is really revealing or saying ... every word (meaning the scriptures) and he (Jesus) are one and the same? Therefore, these three; 1. Jesus (the same Person and same God), 2. the word (from out of this Person's mouth), and 3. the scriptures (His spoken word put in writing - He backs up what He says) are one and the same. As in spirit and life, made record of. Do you believe it?
Jesus speaks the word of life which is written (scripted, scrolled, recorded) as the book of life. You can argue with me (the postie), but you can't argue with the scriptures! Unless you don't believe them; even partially that is. Which means, you don't believe in Jesus' word either. He said you are either for Him or against Him. Meaning, if you partially believe in His word then you don't believe in Jesus. They are one and the same. Sorry, but there is no neutral ground now folks! The sword has fallen. The scribe or the Author? The crook or the Book? Which one will you believe?
Moreover, if you believe using the word crook is a bit harsh here, just remember we were all once crooked. Until we were made straight. Plus, any one who is out to make you crooked again, after you were made straight, has to be a textual crook! Nothing more or nothing less!
Therefore, to put it in another way ... which path would you prefer to take at the end of the day? The crooked path of "hath God said"? Or the straight and narrow path, of what scripture says few find?
Divine Preservation
Now that we have clearly ascertained from scripture, that they are one and the same with the word (we are letting the scriptures to speak and prove themselves, are we not?), let us be refreshed from Psalms 12:6-7:
"The words of the LORD (the scriptures) are pure words (not tainted, even partly): as silver tried in a furnace of earth (having proven themselves through intense hostility and the turmoil's of history), purified seven times (completely untainted by time). Thou shalt keep them (He will never lose, deny or neglect them, even though heaven and earth pass away), O LORD, thou shalt preserve them (promising and reassuring us, He will never allow them to be tampered by man and will never loose their meaning) from this generation for ever (whenever the present is with us)."
Whatta incredible promise! What beautiful assurance and guarantee! Do you still trust God? Does He lie or contradict Himself? Is He the author of confusion? And madness? Or is He a God of order and preservation?
Just the same way ... is He a God of gamesmanship and playing tricks? Or is He a God with no shadow of turning, and complete immutability? Who uses clear plain speech, and always, repeat always ... backs up what He has said!
Even though language will change, and the word would translate from the original perished autographs to copies, to copies of copies, to other languages; it's original meaning will always remain the same to any age. This means we have God's written word today, undiluted, uncorrupted, and kept as reliable, in written book form, between two covers. Thatz bundled and neatly packaged, in order for the man or woman in the street, to understand clearly and precisely, as the sole and whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Here is His written, wonderful guarantee:
Ps. 93:5. "Thy testimonies are very sure"
Ps. 119:138. "Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful."
Ps. 119:144. "The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting"
Ps. 19:7. "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple."
Are we truly wise in our own eyes or are we simplistic in our faith and response to God's word? Meaning, are we simple, childish and foolish enough to believe Jesus, the word, and the scripture (the Bible) are one and the same? If you are, then you will find you can interchange freely ... the Word of life (Jesus) with the book of life (the scriptures) freely. As John 1:1 in this case:
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life."
Therefore, can you hold the book in your hand and say with full assurance, "This is the book of life!" "This is the Word of life!" "This is the word of God!"
Divine Revelation
As the word of God is not bound, it is therefore not subject to the monopoly of private interpretation. Nor control, as the scriptures proclaim. Therefore, the word of God is without copyright or censorship in anyway, according to its record. Nor is it founded under any form of bureaucratic or human jurisdiction. Furthermore, neither does one nationality, or group, or church, or organization, have the right to claim ownership, or sole responsibility, or agency, over it. No apologies Folks!!
Jesus said it was for anyone ... Matt.11:25:
"I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent (well, not quite anyone), and hast revealed them unto babes."
Wherefore, as we can see, Paul made out that the written word was for everyone of us, as a believer. It is therefore not just reserved for a select few, due to their superior learning capabilities, access to deeper knowledge, higher IQ, or titles before their name:
Phil. 3:15 ... "God shall reveal even this unto you".
If you wait for your church, your minister, your pastor, or your "spiritual" adviser, to get it from, you may get a filtered down or different version in the end. Like something leaked-out, or extracted, for political or religious reasons, rather than for personal revelation and individual growth.
Paul says it is to get by revelation only:
Gal. 1:12. "For I neither received it of man (was he a rebel?), neither was I taught it (a mystic?), but by the revelation of Jesus Christ (oh, one of those!)."
How do we get it?
By not being conceited. Or being puffed up. Or depending on our own ability. Or leaning on our own understanding. Nor by scholarly interpretation. Or credentialed expertise:
1Cor. 1:20. "Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?"
So where is God's wise (the world's foolish) to be found?
Is. 66:2... "but to this man will I look (show Myself to, reveal), even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word (you wont get that in a mega "prosperity" church)."
This does not mean we abandon our brain for one moment. No, we use it fearfully in co-operation with the Lord, as we conform to (not correct) His word.
The book
No doubt then, the book is reserved only for those who are poor and of a contrite spirit. Not the self conceited. Nor the self taught. Nor those who are cleverly brainwashed by higher learning. Nor those who are too clever to believe the Lord could or would preserve His word, right down through the trials and the fires of the tumultuous centuries. Of language changes, and social and racial barriers, to boot. Nor through textual manipulation and pseudo scientific revolution. The book is for the unlearned, who have no intellectual pride to swallow. Nor academic ability to bury; whose education has not become a stumblingblock to them.
Is. 29:12. "And is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned."
If you were once deaf and blind and desperate for the truth, God-wards,t hen you would've been a good candidate for hearing from Him, through His book, and seeing its content.
Is. 29:18. "And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness (no limelight or pedestals in this department)."
Maybe you are partially deaf or partially blind, and only see to the same degree of your desperation for the truth? The rest of what you think you see, is only indoctrination and conditioning from your religious past, obscuring the truth and bringing spiritual limitations. Jesus is always totally independent to every degree of any party's dogma or fraternity. He is only found in the complete book as Ps. 40:7 confirms:
"Then said I, Lo, I come:in the volume of it is written of me".
The uncompromising warning found in Rev. 22:19:
"And if any man shall take away from the words of of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Yes, the book! God's book! The Holy Book!
Are you trembling at it? Or are you undermining it? Are you correcting it? Or is it correcting you?
